Carrie Fisher appears in the new UK series in one of her final performances along Joseph Fiennes, Stockard Channing, Brian Cox, Eddie Marsan and many others.
Sky Arts will broadcast a new UK comedy series on the following days.
Urban Myths is a collection of eight original one-off shows that will "look at remarkable stories from well-known historical, artistic and cultural figures, which may or may not have happened in real life..."
"The films include Bob Dylan and Dave Stewart hanging out in Crouch End; an 18 year-old Adolf Hitler attempting to get into art school; Cary Grant and Timothy Leary taking LSD; Salvador Dali summoning Alice Cooper to sit for him; Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and Marlon Brando going on a road-trip; Samuel Beckett driving Andre The Giant to school; Muhammad Ali saving a suicidal man; and The Sex Pistols and the story behind the infamous expletive-filled TV interview which announced the arrival of punk rock".
The comedy features some pretty famous faces: Eddie Marsan as Bob Dylan, Ben Chaplin as Cary Grant, Katherine Parkinson and Noel Clarke (as Muhammad Ali), Aidan Gillen as Dr. Timothy Leary, David Threlfall as Samuel Beckett, Iwan Rheon as Adolf Hitler and Rupert Grint as Hitler's friend.
One of Carrie Fisher's final performances before her tragic death late last year is in one of the episodes. Set in New York in September 2001, the episode follows long-time friends Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and Marlon Brando as they took a road trip after the 9/11 terror attacks.
Joseph Fiennes stars as the late Michael Jackson, Stockard Channing as Elizabeth Taylor and Brian Cox as Marlon Brando. On social media, fans criticized the cast of Fiennes as the pop super-star.

@TheMJCast Horrible isn't it. There aren't even any nostrils on that nose. I can see exactly how this is going to go now.

Ben Palmer, who directed four episodes of the series, defends casting of white actor as Michael Jackson saying the decision was based on performance rather than physical resemblance. "We were really looking for the performance that could unlock the spirit, and we really think Joe Fiennes has done that. He’s given a really sweet, nuanced, characterful performance."
