The output of quality Irish original feature films looks set to continue with Mark O'Connor's Cardboard Gangsters.
There are many original Irish features making their grand debut at the 28th Galway Film Fleadh and O'Connor's Carboard Gangsters is another one to watch.
With the film to premiere at the festival this coming Saturday 9, producers have decided to release a little teaser to give viewers an ounce of what to expect. This short 1.30 minute video sees the return of Love/Hate's King of the Travellers John Connors and this scene alone conveys the anguish and passion we can expect to see from Cardboard Gangsters. Connors plays a small-time drug dealer looking to expand on his business by gaining control of the Darndale region. As he chases a perceived lifestyle of cash and glory, Connors and his fellow drug lords end up facing the realities of the underground push for drug power.
Cardboard Gangsters is another gritty feature from Mark O'Connor whose managed to convey the grim realities of Ireland's crime world in King of the Travellers and Between The Canal. It was produced by Richard Bolger and following its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh, Cardboard Gangsters will be distributed by Wildcard Distributions to cinemas nationwide.
