'Bless Me' comes from his 2020 album 'græ'.
The 2020 Soul Train Awards were hosted on BET Sunday night (November 29), by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold. The show featured numerous performances from some of the best soul, hip-hop and R&B performers, including Moses Sumney.
The multi-hyphenate musician and performing artist sang 'Bless Me', a track from his 2020 album græ. The album, released in two parts at 20 tracks in length, was given 9/10 stars by Hot Press, and called 'truly masterful'.
In an interview with Hot Press earlier this year, Sumney discussed how isolation and identity politics informed the concept for and process of making the record, saying: “In isolation, I’m afforded the opportunity to focus solely on myself and my ideas – without the influence of taking into consideration what people want for me, and wondering what people want from me. There’s a kind of focus that comes from that – just tuning out the noise, and getting to a place where I’m alone, and the only noise is the ambiance of the idea.”
