Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming film The Discovery, starring Jason Segel and Rooney Mara. Part sci-fi future film and part love story, the film is set one year after the existence of an afterlife is scientifically proven. Millions of people commit suicide with the intention to see it for themselves. The scientist who has made the discovery, played by Robert Redford, deals the implications of his work with his son Will, played by Jason Segel, who is skeptic of the whole idea itself. Will then finds himself falling in love with Isla (Rooney Mara) a woman determined to uncover the mysteries of the afterlife.
The Discovery also stars Riley Keough and Jesse Plemons and was directed by Charlie McDowell and written by McDowell and Justin Lader. The film will be available on Netflix March 31. Watch the trailer below.
