A new trailer for Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi was released today, with several major plot details hinted at.
Directed by Rian Johnson (Looper, Breaking Bad), the latest installation in the 'Sequel Trilogy' begins where Episode 7 left off, as Rey (Daisy Ridley), the young Jedi-to-be locates Luke Skywalker's hiding place.
In the new trailer, however, Skywalker appears fearful of helping Rey unlock her potential, while the chief antagonist, Kylo Ren attempts to lure her over to the dark side. Promising destruction, death, chaos, new AT-AT Walkers, family strife, the chief antagonist Snoke in the flesh, an adorable Pokemon-like critter (for the kids) and apparently a lot of the plot, it certainly has much to offer for Star Wars fanatics.
However, Rian Johnson does not want you to watch it apparently. Writing on Twitter, he said, "If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it", which would be sound advice were it not for the fact that he was dangling the apple before our eyes, like the serpent in the Garden of Eden by adding, "but it's gooooood".
I a legitimately torn. If you want to come in clean, absolutely avoid it.
But it’s gooooood..... https://t.co/Y29K5yz8i4— Rian Johnson (@rianjohnson) October 8, 2017

Later, he added,
FWIW: I love that there are folks who want to come into a movie clean, I think that’s awesome. Me, I’m a weak man. I watch ALL THE TRAILERS
