The official Harry Potter spin-off is going overseas and into the past.
2016 may have been something of a disappointment for big budget blockbusters, with a few exceptions, but Warner Brothers hopes to turn that around with the Fantastic Beasts movie, a story set in New York during the Roaring Twenties in the fictional universe established by Harry Potter.
The whole conflict is totally the hero, Newt Scamander’s, fault when he royally screws up, unleashing a bunch of frightened magical animals on unsuspecting muggles, or no-majs as they’re called in America. One of the things this film looks to be doing is distinguish the magical community of the US from the British community seen in the novels and their film adaptations.
