WATCH: The first trailer for new Oasis Documentary
Supersonic will be released in cinemas October 2 and was produced by the same team who made the Academy Award-winning Amy, about the late Amy Winehouse.
The trailer begins with footage of the "lads on the council estate" and documents the brothers' dramatic rise to stardom with their critically acclaimed debut album. It shows their sometimes excessive hedonism, their brushes with the tabloid media, and their denouncement by British politicians. Notably absent from the trailer is any mention of the circumstances which led to the band's break-up in 2009.
Director Mat Whitcross has confirmed that voiceovers from the Gallagher brothers were recorded separately, but he did not rule out a possible reunion at the premiere of the film at Festival No. 6 this Sunday. Indeed, many fans feel this is closest sign that a reunion could be on the cards in seven long years. But while it has been revealed that Coldplay singer Chris Martin has been acting as a mediator between the two brothers, all reports that both Liam and Noel will attend the premiere together are purely speculative.
