New Andy Samberg mockumentary takes a comedic look into doping in professional cycling.
Comedians Andy Samberg and Murray Miller are behind HBO’s newest sports mockumentary, Tour de Pharmacy which comes out tomorrow.
The oddball film is a follow up to the comedic pair’s 2015 7 Days in Hell — a satirical look into the fictional 1996 Wimbledon finale. The upcoming 39 minute film will look at another fictional sporting event: the 1982 Tour de France. The aptly named Tour de Pharmacy makes a cheeky nod to doping within the cycling community, even including Lance Armstrong in on the joke (too soon?).

The cast is remarkably star-studded, with Hamilton’s Daveed Diggs, WWE star/actor John Cena, Orlando Bloom, Kevin Bacon, Mike Tyson, James Marsden, Jon Hamm, and even J.J. Abrams making appearances.
In a recent review of Tour de Pharmacy, The Atlantic wrote, “It takes the thorny subject of doping in professional cycling and turns it into pure, gleeful mayhem, complete with animated guides to red-blood cells, artistic renderings of bear fellatio, and Lance Armstrong wearing a white fur coat, texting his lawyer.”
