Fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine should check this out
Netflix have dropped the first trailer for upcoming series The Good Cop from Andy Breckman, the creator of the Emmy Award-winning Monk.
The comedy centres on the odd couple relationship between a father and son on both sides of the law. Tony Danza (Don Jon, Taxi) plays Tony Sr., a disgraced, former NYPD officer out on parole who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr., (opera singer Josh Groban) an earnest, obsessively honest cop.
“Many cop shows feature dark and provocative material: psycho-sexual killers, twisted, grim, flawed detectives. Many address the most controversial issues of the day. I watch a lot of them. God bless 'em all. But the show I want to produce is playful, family-friendly, and a celebration of old-fashioned puzzle-solving,” said showrunner Breckman. He also produces alongside Randy Zisk (Bones, Monk), and Howard Klein (The Office, The Mindy Project).
The Good Cop's first season will consist of ten one-hour episodes and will be available to stream September 21, 2018. Starring alongside Danza and Groban is Luke Cage's Frank Whaley, Isiah Whitlock Jr. (who played Clay Davis in The Wire) and UnReal's Monica Barbaro.
