Tickets to see Wet Leg live in Ireland cost €27 and go on sale this Friday, March 11th at 9am via Ticketmaster.
With the release of Wet Leg’s self-titled debut album just over a month away (due April 8th), the Isle of Wight duo are pleased to announce a headline show at The Academy on 28th November 2022.
Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers will also perform at Limelight Belfast on November 27th.
Several of the band’s US dates have been upgraded, and additional UK in-stores have been added due to demand. The fast-rising band have also been announced for BBC 6 Music Festival in Cardiff.
Already, to their credit, Wet Leg have multiple viral singles; second place on the BBC’s Sound of 2022 list; a record contract with Domino Records; and a debut album, recorded with Fontaines D.C producer Dan Carey, that’s ready to rock. Not bad going, for two music college friends from the Isle of Wight.
Their unique commitment to being themselves, and damn the consequences, resulted in one of 2021’s standout tracks, the irrepressibly brilliant ‘Chaise Longue’. Replete with Mean Girls quotes and a string of sexual innuendo, it’s impossible to forget.
Second single, ‘Wet Dream’, is an equally memorable statement directed at an ex, while ‘Too Late Now’ examines the confusion of contemporary life and the modern notion of ‘self-care’. 'Oh No' and 'Angelica' are equally feelgood, not to mention infectiously catchy. Named after Teasdale’s oldest friend, 'Angelica' was recorded in Chambers’ living room by bandmate Joshua Mobaraki.

For many, Wet Leg’s tongue-in-cheek lyrics are the backbone of their appeal.
“I have speculated on the same thing, about our sense of linguistic silliness," Rhian told Hot Press last month. "The album’s lyrics are humour-based, because I can’t take anything seriously, but they’re also cutting. Succeeding in music seems to require momentum. I have an endless list of bands I love who haven’t been given as much support as we have. Their songs are definitely better, but the stars aligned and people connected with us, probably because of this endless year. The public only had the capacity for so much darkness.”
Wet Leg is available to pre-order on exclusive clear vinyl (with a 7” of two non-album tracks) via the band’s webstore, standard vinyl, cassette, CD and digitally. A variety of merch (T-shirt, print) is available as a pre-order bundle too.
