According to Fire & Fury author Michael Wolff, President Donald Trump is obsessed with getting an invite to Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding with Meghan Markle.
But Meghan’s older sister doesn’t want the so-called Leader of the Free World to be at Buckingham Palace for the nuptials.
“I think Donald Trump is mentally unstable and a danger to the world. And I think he would be a huge insult to everyone there,” says Samantha Markle, who has the same father as Meghan.
In a controversial and disarmingly honest interview about Meghan’s back story with Hot Press, the older sister of the Suits star – and soon-to-be-Princess – also criticises her sister in the interview for not financially supporting their father. She also warns that Meghan’s brother is an alcoholic and drug addict who will potentially be a constant “embarrassment” to Meghan and Harry.
Samantha, who is wheelchair-bound from MS, also uses her Hot Press Interview as a public forum to make an emotional plea to her little sister to financially help their father.
Samantha also tells Hot Press’ senior editor Jason O’Toole how Meghan and her mother had to overcome racism. She also reflects on her little sister’s upbringing, and speaks about her fears that what happened to Princess Dianna might be repeated with Meghan...
Asked why she believes Meghan should help her father financially, she says: “A woman with a good heart would help her father. It should be automatic. He shouldn’t have to ask for anything.”

And she adds: “My Dad is still running around in a beat-up car. Meg should help him. I love her, but she should help Dad. I’m not candy coating it. It is true.”
On their brother Tom: “He’s got a history of drinking and drugs. My brother has had a field day with his drugs and partying at the expense of the family. I tried to help my brother with legal help when I was worried that he would face going to prison after he pulled his gun.”
On the racism Meghan experienced as a child: “She saw some pretty sad things with her Mum, who was exposed to some pretty nasty words that are thrown around in mainstream discourse: the ‘N’ word and expletives that are attached to that. That can be hurtful for a young woman.”
Samantha admits that she might not get an invite to the wedding of the year because of a book she’s writing about her sister: “I don’t know if she’s going to feel that my book is good. There’s a lot of misperception out there. I’d be lying to say that I wouldn’t be hurt if I didn’t get an invite – but that’s really up to her. That’s her day. It’s her special moment. And I would love to be a part of it.”
On how she fears that what happened to Princess Dianna might be repeated with Meghan: “Maybe more so. Princess Diana was dealing with some very challenging personal issues and I think that was hard and dramatic enough – but now we throw heated racial issues into the mix, we throw complex foreign affairs, and it seems there’s a lot more – let’s just say – potential energy there, a lot more emotions, a lot more fuelling these issues now. I hope that she is safe from them. I know she’s equipped with her life tools, but I do worry about her.”
On Prince Harry: “He’s quirky and cute and perfect for her. They’re very charming together. But I think more than that he has a noble heart. Prince Harry resembles the best qualities in my father.”
In what is a world exclusive interview, Samantha also talks about Meghan’s parents divorce. She reveals that their neighbours thought that Meghan’s mother was the maid! She talks at length about their wild brother and claims that the media spotlight on them is tearing the family part. Samantha also talks about her upcoming book and explains why Meghan will have to pick it up in a bookshop like the rest of us if she wants to know what’s in it. She also reveals what their Dad thinks about his daughter marrying a prince.
