The Dubliner's rework of the Zaska track was originally released as part of his 'Stay In Touch' EP.
YURN's latest EP, Stay In Touch, revolved around a central theme of connection and positivity in a time of isolation. Fitting, then, that the music video for his rework of Max Zaska's 'My Whole Heart' features YURN having fun entirely on his own.
The moniker of singer, songwriter and producer James Smith, YURN is a project that started with Smith producing reworks of his friend's tracks, but it has since developed into something lasting. “The original is such an uplifting record," Smith says of Zaska's isolation song. "I wanted to create something fun, something unassuming, something that would get people smiling and moving.”
Smith's whimsical solo dance party is beautifully shot by Oliver Kelly and edited by Alex Lynch, a duo Smith has worked with many times with his former band Gypsies on the Autobahn.
Alex recalls, ‘James came to us with the idea and the aesthetic, we found the location and just kept rolling footage. It was a fun night, spurred on by people gathered, wondering what we were doing.’
