Hollywood legend Zsa Zsa Gabour has died only two months before she would’ve celebrated her 100th birthday, it has been confirmed by her publicist.
The Hungarian-born actress passed away from a heart attack yesterday afternoon at her LA home, according to media reports.
Zsa Zsa was more famous for her flamboyant character and her amount of marriages, rather than her thespian skills, having wed seven times. However, she once said that only her second marriage to hotel mogul Conrad Hilton was financially motivated.
The actress appeared in more than 30 films and at the height of her fame she starred in the original version of ‘Moulin Rouge’ in 1952 and in ‘Lili’ the following year.
But by the 1970s, the acting gigs started to dry up and she rejected offers to play smaller roles in films. “I may be a character but I do not want to be a character actress,” she stated at the time.
The actress – who went on to appear in low budget movies such as the forgettable ‘Queen of Outer Space’ – once quipped about her seven marriages: “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house.”
