They want you to get your old Culture Club/Spandau Ballet/Visage clobber out...
"Ireland in the 80s, no smart phones... just smart asses, good music, bad advice and worse fashion... a perfect time to fall in love."
That's the intriguing premise for Danny Boy, a new comedy starring the likes of Clelia Murphy who'll be instantly recognisable to Fair City fans as Niamh Cassidy; Jack Hickey who has Sea Fever, Shelley and Penny Dreadful on his CV; The Nest's Alexandra Moloney; and stand-up Paddy C. Courtney.
With cinemas on lockdown, writer and director Ferdia Mac Anna has decided to screen it for free at 7pm on Friday May at

The soundtrack is pretty damn tasty too with Some Kind of Wonderful, The Atrix, the Radiators, Big Self, Joe Jackson, Tony Koklin, Pop Mecanics and The Resistors all making a musical appearance.
"It’s our gift to everyone in this locked down difficult time," says Ferdia who has rock 'n' roll previous as lead singer with Rocky De Valera & The Gravediggers. "We salute all the people staying at home. We also wish to play tribute to the wonderful people on the front line including nurses, doctors and medical staff, first responders, Gardai, postal staff, retail staff, cleaners, chemists, ambulance personnel, everyone involved in keeping the country running and helping us stay safe. We hope the film will transport you back to a simpler, more enjoyable time before pandemics and mobiles phones and even Cappuccinos on the go and the main danger in teenage social interaction was the possibility of a broken heart. In the run up to this, we’ll share pictures, a few clips and music from the soundtrack."
He's also asking you to get your old Culture Club/Spandau Ballet/Visage clobber out.
"Dress up in 80s New Romantic gear in your front-room and send us a pic and we will give prizes for the best outfit and maddest look," he resumes. "We’d love for you to get involved with this special world premiere. Please like, share and invite people."
Done, done and done. See you on the sofa in a week's time!
