Kelsey Grammer - who starred as the show's protagonist from 1993 to 2004 - has been trying to reboot the spin-off for many years.
A reboot of Frasier is reportedly in the works on the Paramount Plus streaming platform.
The show remains one of the most successful sitcoms of all time, earning 37 Emmy Awards over the course of 11 seasons and 264 episodes on NBC.
Variety has confirmed with sources that a revival of the show is in the early stages of discussions at the streaming service, with reps for Paramount Plus declining to comment.
Series star Kelsey Grammer has been trying to get the revived show off the ground for some time, but the cost remains a possible issue.
Grammer and other stars from the original series who would return for the reboot would presumably expect pay similar (if not more) to what they were making at the time the show concluded.

Frasier also starring David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, Jane Leeves, and John Mahoney - who played the character of Frasier's father Martin Crane. Sadly, Mahoney died in 2018 at the age of 77.
In 2018, Peri Gilpin - who portrayed radio producer Roz Doyle - spoke about the idea of bringing the show back.
“If there was a way that everyone agreed on – not me, but David Lee and Peter Casey and Kelsey and Jimmy Burrows and all of those guys – and everybody thought it was a good idea, then yeah. Hell, yeah!” she said.
Appearing on the Hollywood & Levine podcast, Gilpin also spoke to former scriptwriter Ken Levine about a possible reboot.
“It’s come up a few times over the years and from all kinds of places," she said. "I don’t know, I don’t know what’s going on with it, I swear to God ... But what a great thing, that people are interested in it and people want to know, wonder what’s going on. I’m wondering what’s going on. My agents and manager are really wondering what’s going on."
“But I think it’s just in the works...,” she continued. “There’s a lot of people involved in this. People forget that it was a spin-off of Cheers, I mean younger people that have found it on Netflix, that means that there are so many people from Cheers that have to OK everything.”
Paramount Plus will also be the home to a revival of the hugely popular Nickelodeon series iCarly and is currently readying a series about the making of The Godfather.
