Aubrey Plaza has issued a statement following the passing of her husband Jeff Baena on Friday. The late director was found at his Los Angeles home after taking his own life.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” the actor and Baena’s family said in a joint statement. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
Baena was best known for co-writing the 2004 comedy I Heart Huckabees, and directing 2014’s Life After Beth and 2017’s The Little Hours, both of which starred Plaza.
The couple had been in a relationship since 2011, and married in 2021 for their 10th anniversary.

Before her husband's death, she was scheduled to present an award at Sunday’s Golden Globe ceremony.
