BBC and Netflix commission Dracula mini-series
It's another creation inspired by the Bram Stoker original.
BBC one has teamed up with streaming service Netflix to co-produce a new three-part mini-series titled Dracula, to be made by the co-creators of BBC's Sherlock in Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Similarly to their previous creation's format, the pair will produce a trio of hour and a half long episodes, however the series will be set in and based upon the 1897 original from Irish author Bram Stoker, where we'll see the oft-replicated count nefariously plotting against Victorian London.
It's the first attempt at adapting the drama for television since NBC's largely unsuccessful venture that ran for only a season back in 2013, though after the likes of the Twilight franchise and True Blood it is the next in a steady line of modern day vampire-based titles.

Speaking to the BBC, Moffat and Gatiss said, "There have always been stories about great evil. What’s special about Dracula, is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero."
There is no official word yet in terms of casting or when filming will take place, but the series will premiere on BBC One in the UK and on Netflix outside of the region.
