The Los Angeles singer's new Barbie single will arrive on July 13th.
Billie Eilish took to Instagram to announce the title and release date of her newest single 'What Was I Made For'. The song will feature as part of the stacked Barbie movie soundtrack, which will be out July 21st.
Barbie will feature songs from a stunning number of top artists, including Lizzo, Haim, and Dominic Fike. Dua Lipa has already released the film's lead single 'Dance the Night'. Other heavy hitters have since released music for the film, with Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Karol G, and most recently hyperpop queen Charli XCX joining their ranks.

Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has garnered a massive amount of hype leading up to its release. "WE MADE THIS SONG FOR BARBIE AND IT MEANS THE ABSOLUTE WORRRRLLLD TO ME," conceded Eilish in her post. She tagged her brother and frequent producer Finneas, pointing to a collaboration.
The singer has been busy, collaborating with Labrinth earlier this year on 'Never Felt So Alone' from the Euphoria soundtrack. She also announced that she was working on her anticipated third album, the follow-up to her acclaimed sophomore LP Happier Than Ever.
"This movie is gonna change your lives," Eilish wrote, "and hopefully the song will too." You can read more about the film in Hot Press' most recent issue.
