Specially commissioned film Ériu is now available on RTÉ Player ahead of Body & Soul 2022, which takes place on June 17-19.
Body and Soul’s newest visual project, Ériu, is now available to view for free on RTÉ Player.
The new film from the creative production house was filmed at its festival home in Ballinlough, Co. Westmeath and features some of Ireland’s most celebrated artists. Musical performers in the piece include Æ MAK, Aoife Dunne, Felix Power, John Francis Flynn, Emma Nash, God Knows, Maïa Nunes, David Power, Peter Broderick, Alltar, 1000 Beasts and more.
Filmmakers who worked on the project include Eilis Doherty, Alex Delap, Ror Conaty, Myles O'Reilly, Jason Boland and Leon Forristal. Video production agency Tiny Ark helmed the film's creative processes.
The unique mix of music, visual arts, electronic art, landscape art, opera, spoken-word, poetry, and dance, creates an immersive experience that transcends space and time. Ériu’s commissioned artists were invited to freely experiment and push the limits of their art form to help create the film's dreamlike environment.
Many of the site specific works that take place on the Ballinlough Castle Estate have greatly influenced their artists corresponding live performances that will premiere at this year's edition of the festival on June 17th to 19th.
The Body & Soul Festival has repeatedly sold out since its first iteration in 2010, and it looks to continue its tradition of incredible music, innovative art exhibits, and gourmet food at this year's festival. The 2022 lineup, features heavy-hitters like Róisín Murphy, CMAT, Mogwai, Yves Tumor and Pillow Queens.
