The documentary explores O'Farrell's love of life and dedication to songwriting through his own battles
The release of award-winning feature documentary Breaking Out to Irish cinemas on May 15 celebrates the remarkable life of Irish musician Fergus O’Farrell.
O’Farrell was the charismatic voice of the influential indie rock band Interference. He was best known for his timeless song ‘Gold’. Despite being diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at a young age, he sang, inspiring a generation of songwriters. Breaking Out tells the story of his unique voice and his fierce passion and dedication.
Winner of Best Irish Documentary at the Galway Film Fleadh 2019, this intimate journey into the heart and soul of Fergus O’Farrell was filmed over ten years by director Michael McCormack.
