It remains unclear what exactly Gleeson’s role will be but it has been reported that he will play the show’s villain.
Spider-Noir hails from Mortal Combat writer Oren Uziel and Behind Her Eyes writer Steve Lightfoot, who will also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.
The pair developed the show with the Into the Spider-Verse team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, all of whom will also executive produce.
Spider-Noir is the second show announced under a partnership between Amazon and Sony to develop projects around Marvel characters associated with Spider-Man that Sony controls.
The first was Silk: Spider Society which was originally announced in 2022, but it was reported that the show would not be hitting the small screen by Amazon in May of this year.
