And though the awards show is hosted across the pond, Irish actors have made their mark in popular television this year with performances from people like Cillian Murphy and Siobhán McSweeney. As Peaky Blinders' angsty lead, Murphy is in the running for Best Actor while Cork-native McSweeney is up for Best Comedy Performance for her work in Derry Girls.
Peaky Blinders aired its sixth and final season earlier this year, though the story is still to be wrapped up in a concluding feature length film. The date and final casting decisions for the film are, as of yet, unknown but, in the meantime, fans can rewatch the series on Netflix or watch the TV Choice events unfold.

Murphy is up against actors like Bridgerton's Johnathan Bailey and This is Going to Hurt star Ben Wishaw. Bridgerton has been nominated in three categories after taking home a similar number of awards in the 2021 season.
Siobhán McSweeney became a Derry Girls fan favourite for her sharp tongue and exaggerated eye rolls. The Channel 4 series aired its final season earlier this year but is still unavailable on streaming services.
McSweeney is in good company for the title of Best Comedy Performance with Ricky Gervais from After Life and Lee Mack of Not Going Out joining her in the running.
