Meath singer-songwriter CMAT's debut album ‘If My Wife New I’d Be Dead’ is set for release on March 4th.
This Friday night's Late Late Show will see a host of musical and creative talent, including the cast of An Cailín Ciúin, as well as an appearance from comedian Patrick Kielty and foster mother Theresa Haughey.
The musical guests on the night will be Irish country-pop star CMAT, who yesterday released the final cut from her forthcoming debut album in the form of 'Every Bottle Is My Boyfriend'.
“This is a song about being defiantly chaotic, because being that, an agent of chaos, is something quite defiant for a girl to do," CMAT says. "It almost didn’t make the album. But then I managed to shoehorn in a line about the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) and I felt happy it was representative of my drinking habits.”
There’s a decidedly alt-rock undercurrent to 'Every Bottle Is My Boyfriend' emphasising CMAT’s versatility as a songwriter who is comfortable operating in numerous genres with ease. This marks Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson's debut on the RTÉ One chat show, and we're sure she'll put on quite the performance.

Dublin musician D. Cullen is also back on the show to perform his current hit 'Radio'.
Bouncing along on a massive bassline and exploding with electronic bubbles, 'Radio' is a big, bold pop song with a huge hook and lyrics to boot.
“The lyrics to 'Radio' speak to the huge distress I felt in 2021,” D. explains “As with most of us, I was locked down, isolated from friends and family, and without any outlets or release from all of the world’s stress. The one thing that kept me going was being able to dive into my record collection, dive into great music, and dive into the radio. Music is the most invaluable method of escape, and this song is a tribute to that.”
The song was recorded Conor McLoughlin (Sick Love) engineering and Roger Bechirian (Bell X1/Elvis Costello/Bell X1) mixing. D. laid down all of the instruments in a day, before making use of the exceptional talents of Rebecca Geary (Conor’s bandmate) and Sinead McConville for the three-part harmony within the chorus.
'Radio' is taken from D. Cullen’s forthcoming debut album, Sing My Story, Tell My Song, which is in the middle of a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGogo. The album will be released in Autumn 2022.
With his first-ever starring role in new movie Ballywalter and a brand new stand-up tour called 'Borderline', comedian Patrick Kielty will be bringing his insightful and funny take on Ireland to The Late Late Show this Friday.
Ryan will also be chatting to the team behind An Cailín Ciúin, the Irish language film making a huge splash at home and abroad with wins at the Berlin Film Festival and ten IFTA nominations.

Theresa Haughey will share her experience as a foster mother who cared for more than 100 children over the past 20 years.
The Late Late Show airs this Friday at 9:35pm on RTÉ One.
