Both actors will be competing for a prize in the Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture - Television category.
Colin Farrell and Andrew Scott have both been nominated for the Golden Globes awards in the Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture - Television category, for The Penguin and Ripley respectively.
Paul Mescal, Cillian Murphy and Soairse Ronan missed out on nomination in the film acting categories, while the music biopic Kneecap was also left out of the Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language category, despite its success at the British Independent Film Awards yesterday evening.
Meanwhile, the Netflix drama Emilia Pérez led the film categories with ten nominations, while Anora and The Substance received five nods each.

Ariana Grande received her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical for her role as Glinda in Wicked – the film received three additional nods, including Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture for Cynthia Erivo.
Conclave, the film exploring the election process of a new Pope starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci and John Lithgow, received six nominations, including best actor in a drama for Fiennes.
Major series such as Shogun, The Bear and Slow Horses also received multiple nominations in the TV categories.
The Golden Globe Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5 and hosted by American comedian Nikki Glaser.
