Colin Farrell was among the names announced in this year's Hollywood Walk of Fame class and is set to receive his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Farrell has been acting since the late '90s and has received two Golden Globe Awards for Banshees of Inisherin and In Bruges. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his work in Banshees of Inisherin. 

The late Prince, Jane Fonda, and Jessica Chastain are some of the other celebrities on this year's list.

More than thirty celebrities will be added to the Walk of Fame this year, with categories ranging from motion pictures to television, live theatre/live performance, radio, recording, and sports entertainment.

John Carpenter, Chastain, Bill Duke, Robert Englund, Emilio Estevez, Farrell, Fonda, Nia Long, Lisa Lu, Glynn Turman and Toni Vaz are some of the names included among the motion picture honourees.

Artists such as Fantasia, Depeche Mode, Los Bukis, The B-52s, Green Day, The Isley Brothers, Busta Rhymes, George Strait, Keith Urban, WAR and Prince are honoured in the recording category.

Fran Drescher, Lauren Graham, Bill Nye, Molly Shannon, Sherri Shepherd, Courtney B. Vance, Chris Wallace, Trey Parker, and Matt Stone (in a double ceremony) will be awarded stars for their work on television.

The live performance honourees include Misty Copeland and Alan Cumming. Finally, David Beckham and Orel Hershiser will receive stars for sports entertainment, with Adam Carolla as the sole radio star honouree this year.

Honorees have up to two years after being chosen to set a ceremony date.

On Monday, the Hollywood Chamber's Board of Directors chose the selections in mid-June, which were announced by Niecy Nash, Joe Mantegna, Jimmy Jam, and Steven Nissen (the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president).

In a statement, Peter Roth chairman of the Walk of Fame Selection Committee said, "I am thrilled to announce the distinguished honourees who will grace the iconic Walk of Fame in the Class of 2025. Each honouree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields."
