Courtney Love claims "a bunch of #MeToo" incidents caused her to quit acting

Love was nominated for a Golden Globe in 1997 for Milos Forman's 'The People Vs. Larry Flynt'

Singer-songwriter Courtney Love has alleged that her acting career was put on hold due to "a bunch of #MeToo" incidents.

The Hole frontwoman earned a Golden Globe nomination in the late 1990s for her performance in Milos Forman's The People Vs. Larry Flynt, alongside Woody Harrelson and Edward Norton. She describes her acting experiences as "fun as hell."

In an Instagram post, she wrote: "I love acting ... I stopped being capable of it after a bunch of #metoos. No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop.

"So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it. Maybe, in my next life I’ll be stronger & able to endure it .. I tip my hat to those who can."

Love has since acted in TV programmes like Sons of Anarchy and Empire, but recalled her fond memories of working on large projects, saying that "the trust one can achieve with a great director" is "one of the most profound things [she has] ever known.”
