When they come to Fastnet Film Festival in West Cork, Lenny and Daisy will discuss how the actor-director collaboration can foster magic in a film.
Award-winning director Lenny Abrahamson and actress Daisy Edgar Jones have been confirmed to make a special appearance at Fastnet Film Festival, which will run from the 22nd to the 26th of May in Schull, West Cork.
Daisy Edgar Jones is a highly-acclaimed actress who got her start in the television series Cold Feet (2016–2020) and War of the Worlds (2019-2021). She became a household name for her breakout role starring in the miniseries Normal People, directed by Abrahamson, which earned her nominations for a British Academy Television award and a Golden Globe. In 2022, she starred in the comedy-thriller film Fresh, the very successful Where the Crawdads Sing, and the crime miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven for which she also received a Golden Globe nomination.

The Fastnet Film Festival is a major showcase for Irish and International film productions, with a particular focus on the craft itself. The festival in May will screen up to 16 feature length films, run a series of Seminars, masterclasses and workshops covering everything from scriptwriting to editing, casting to auditioning, acting, production, score composition, directing and more. Fringe events include live music, drama, book readings, movie quizzes, café viewing all over town and high-quality, free family entertainment for all.

Festival goers are encouraged to visit Cape Clear for the Irish Language Film Day and to follow the walking trail around the island, enjoying a curated programme of Irish Language short films at various venues. Back by popular demand is the outdoor screen in the park where the village will be treated to a free feature screening on Sunday 26th of May.
