Foo Fighters shared the first trailer from their upcoming horror comedy movie, Studio 666, directed by BJ McDonnell.

Though the movie was initially teased last year by frontman Dave Grohl, the trailer gives the first in-depth look at the band’s clash with the supernatural.

The trailer follows the group to a studio in Encino, Los Angeles where they recorded their tenth studio album, Medicine at Midnight. While struggling to complete the album, Grohl becomes possessed by the spirits of a fictitious group named Dream Window. His newfound guidance jeopardises both the album and the lives of his bandmates.

In an interview with Louder, Grohl shared his thoughts on the “epic” plot based on a story he had written previously.

“Just when you think we couldn't come up with anything more ridiculous...It really, really will blow your mind,” Grohl said. "There's no other band stupid enough to do this. It's absolutely insane."

Along with the band - Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, and Nate Mendel - portraying themselves, the film features performances by Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, and Jeff Garlin.

The band released a visual for another track from Medicine at Midnight named 'Love Dies Young' in November of last year. The music video starred Jason Sudeikis coaching the band Ted Lasso style in an American swim competition.

Studio 666, is set to be released on February 25, 2022.
