Rock icon Dave Grohl - Nirvana drummer and frontman of current Hot Press cover stars, Foo Fighters - will join Ryan Tubridy on this week's Late Late Show. The rock outfit's 10th studio album, Medicine at Midnight, will also be released tomorrow.

The pair will discuss everything from his memories of Nirvana's 1991 gig in Cork, to his discovery that all Irish women look like his mother, and his high points from headlining Slane Castle in 2015.

Ryan also will speak to Lynsey Bennett, who settled her CervicalCheck High Court action this week and made an emotional statement regarding the misinformation of smear test slides.

In January 2017, invasive cervical cancer was diagnosed, and Bennett had to have a hysterectomy and other surgery. In March 2018, she was found to have a recurrence of the cervical cancer. It is alleged there was a failure to correctly report or diagnose Lynsey’s smear samples and an alleged misinterpretation of the samples. She said she was relieved that her legal battle was over and she has security for her daughters (aged 12 and 7) and their future.

“Unfortunately, I probably will not be here much longer. It is just I will be able to have some peace knowing it is sorted.”

In a personal statement, Lynsey said: “To my daughters Zoe and Hailee, I hope I have done enough to secure you both a future free of financial worries and that even with me not here to guide you, you can both pursue your dreams. And always remember, Mammy loves you.”

PE teacher Emer O'Neill will join Tubridy to discuss her role as the newest Múinteoir on RTÉ's Home School Hub, her plans for keeping kids moving, the importance of diversity on Irish television screens, and her battle to overcome racial abuse.

Singer-songwriter Ronan Keating will discuss the challenges and rewards of making music over the past year, and welcoming a new addition to his family.

Sportsfile's Ray McManus will present a selection of images from A Season of Sundays, a look back at the 2020 GAA season as captured by some of Ireland's best sports photographers.

Plus, The Riptide Movement will perform their hit single, 'It All Works Out'.

The Late Late Show airs this Friday, February 5th on RTÉ One at 9.35pm.
