The award recognises rising talent
Irish actor Éanna Hardwicke will be the recipient of the “Wilde Card” Award at the US-Ireland Alliance's 19th annual Oscar Wilde Awards, held in Los Angeles on February 27.
As previously announced, John C. Reilly will also be an honouree this year.
“Everyone involved with our organisation, and the Oscar Wilde Awards, is saddened by the devastation resulting from the recent fires," US-Ireland Alliance founder Trina Vargo said.
"We know how much the fires have disrupted the lives of many of our friends, the entertainment community, and the broader Los Angeles community. We briefly considered cancelling, but many told us that they were looking forward to this. We hope the event will provide a respite, for at least an evening.”
Hailing from Cork, Hardwicke began acting at a young age, participating in youth theatre at the Gaiety School of Acting's Cork campus, National Association of Youth Drama (NAYD), and Cork School of Music. His first professional credit was as a child actor in Conor McPherson's 2009 horror film The Eclipse. He later graduated from The Lír, Ireland’s National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin, in 2018.

Recent projects include A Very Royal Scandal and the soon-to-be released Saipan, in which he plays Irish football captain and fellow Corkonian, Roy Keane.
Previous recipients of the Wilde Card Award are Eve Hewson, Doìnall Oì Heìalai, Jenn Murray, Sarah Bolger, and Saoirse Ronan.
