Eoin Colfer's 'Artemis Fowl' to get film adaptation in 2020
The 'Artemis Fowl' adaptation will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Though he has already sold 25 million books worldwide and become one of Ireland’s most successful living writers, Eoin Colfer’s creativity and brilliance is set to reach an even wider audience in 2020. This summer, his beloved Artemis Fowl is getting a big-budget Hollywood adaptation. Based on the first two novels in the hugely popular series, the film follows 12-year-old genius and descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, Artemis, as he seeks out his father, who has mysteriously disappeared.
Directed by Kenneth Branagh and written by Conor McPherson, the film stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Tamara Smart, Nonso Anozie, Josh Gad and Judi Dench.
