The unexpected news comes three years after the release of the show’s second season.
Euphoria’s long-delayed third season is set to head into production in January, three years after the airing of its last instalment.
Despite fears for the show's future after it faced production delays earlier this year, party due to the main cast’s busy schedule, Sam Levinson has confirmed to Deadline that the team would be back together for a new season.
Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer have all transitioned into starring roles in movies, with Zendaya starring in science fiction blockbuster Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two and sports romance film Challengers.

Francesca Orsi, EVP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, said: “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
The third season was previously set to film in Dublin, with rumours suggesting locations like The Long Hall and Copper Face Jacks as shooting spots.
The series follows Zendaya’s Rue, a recovering drug addict, and her friends as they navigate teenage relationships, sex and addiction. The third season instalment was previously described by Levinson as a “film noir.”
In 2020, Zendaya won her first Emmy for her role as Rue, becoming the youngest actress ever to win her category – before winning again two years later.
