A feature-length documentary about Fatboy Slim and "the biggest outdoor party the UK has ever seen" is set to premiere on Sky Documentaries/Sky Showcase/Now TV tomorrow, February 4. Airing at 10pm, Right Here, Right Now takes the audience back to 2002, "and an extraordinary moment in time, when social and cultural history reached a crossroads at The Big Beach Boutique II."
Organisers and police were expecting 40,000 people to attend the gig – but more than a quarter of a million turned up on Brighton Beach for the free event, which has been described as "the last hurrah of the rave movement before it ascended from the underground to the mainstream."
“It has been wonderful with the fullness of time and some hindsight, to revisit such a seismic event in both mine and my hometown’s history," says Norman Cook, aka Fatboy Slim. "Warts and all, the story told in full…. Watch, sleep, rave, repeat.”
Directed by Jak Hutchcraft and produced by Ben Lowe, Right Here, Right Now features interviews with those who witnessed the event first-hand, including Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Vernon Kay and John Simm, all giving accounts of their personal experiences of the era-defining gathering
The post-production work on the documentary was carried out by Dublin's Windmill Lane Pictures – with Martin Fanning as assistant editor, Tom Morris as sound editor, Mick Creedon as mixer, Dave Hughes on colour grading, Donal O'Keefe on graphics, and Dave Quinn and Raoisa Maguire as post-production co-ordinators.

"Working closely with the hugely talented director and producer team, Jak Hutchcraft and Ben Lowe, we provided full service post-production from editing services right through to colour grading, graphics, sound mixing, finishing and final delivery.
"Given our past history in the music industry it was fantastic to be working on such an amazing doc and with an artist such as Fatboy Slim."
