Electronic music legend Fatboy Slim will appear as himself in the third series of 'Derry Girls'.
Rumour has it that English DJ Fatboy Slim will cameo on the third and final series of Derry Girls.
The DJ - whose real name is Norman Cook - is set to appear as himself. The comedy, which follows the lives of a group of friends living through The Troubles in mid-90s Derry, has quickly become a fan favourite. According to an inside source that spoke to Sunday Life, Fatboy Slim is one such fan.
The Bromley native was one of the biggest names in music through the '90s, with smash hits such as 'The Rockafeller Skank' and 'Praise You' gaining global success - both from his sophomore album You've Come a Long Way, Baby which went triple platinum in both the UK and US. His music has already appeared on the Channel 4 series, with his remix of Renegade Master appearing in the fourth episode of the last season.
"Norman has agreed to do some filming for Derry Girls, he's a big fan of the show," the source said. "The show is based in the '90s so it will hark back to when he broke through as Fatboy Slim with big hits like 'Praise You'."
The DJ was supposed to shoot his scenes on Saturday, October 23 - coinciding with his performance in Belfast on the same day. As his concert was rescheduled to December 17th, the shoot date is being changed as well.

"It will most likely be when he is back here in a few months as the show is due to continue filming into December," the source added. "Norman’s also a funny guy and great craic, so we are expecting him to really get into it and have a lot of fun.
Last year, the big beat DJ released a mix album as part of the notorious Back To Mine mix series - which traces its origins all the way back to 1999. The record see's a number of iconic funk and soul tracks from the '70s being remixed by Fatboy Slim.
