One of the most exciting new films to come out of Ireland, Dublin Crust, will be released across Ireland on September 1.
The film has been making the festival rounds over the past month, drumming up a lot of excitement amongst film-heads. Recently, Dublin Crust was awarded the overall festival favourite at Swindon Film Festival in the UK, also being nominated for Best International Feature Film at the South Coast Film Festival, along with the 14th Underground Cinema Dublin Festival, and Limerick's Richard Harris Film Festival.
The film then returns home to open the Louth International Film Festival in Dundalk.
Starring Joe Rooney (Fr.Ted), William Morgan (The Commitments), Rose Henderson (Fr.Ted), and Gerry Cannon (Valhalla), the film marks director and actor Baz Black's first feature film to date.
"It is a dream come true to get the movie to the cinema and it has been a long difficult road. I just hope people get out there and support independent filmmaking in Ireland. Who needs Barbie when Dublin Crust is in town!” Baz told Independent.ie.

"10 Years after Punk band Crust split up, the band members' lives have fallen apart," the film's synopsis reads. "Drummer Bonehead has just been released from prison and sets about reforming the band for one last show."
One critic described the film as: "like Trainspotting meets The Commitments and has an illegitimate love child with The Full Monty."
The cast and crew plan to make an appearance at the Omniplex in Dundalk on September 1 when the film premieres, bringing along some Dublin Crust merchandise for those who want to sport the fictional band. A special screening has also been announced at the Whale Theatre, Greystones, om September 14, accompanied by a Q&A session. Tickets for the Greystones screening have already sold out.
