The Cork actor's production company took to Instagram to share a snap of Murphy alongside his co-star Jay Lycurgo and author, Max Porter.
Cillian Murphy has announced that he is wrapping up production this week on his latest project, Steve, a reimagining of Max Porter's best-selling novel Shy.
Murphy stars in the upcoming film, which will be released via Netflix, and also produces under his Big Things Films banner with partner Alan Moloney.
Steve is directed by Tim Mielants, who recently collaborated with the pair on Small Things Like These, another upcoming Big Things Films production based on the Claire Keegan short novel of the same name and worked with Muprhy on the BAFTA winning series Peaky Blinders.
The Oppienhimer actor posed for a photo of himself onset alongside co-star Jay Lycurgo and author Porter, who wrote the script for Steve.
It is not the first time that the Irish actor and author have worked together on a project with the two previously collaborating for on the stage adaptation of the author's Grief is the Thing with Feathers and the short film All of This Unreal Time.
The movie will explore Porter's book and follows the day in the life of headteacher Steve, who Murphy will play as he and his students have one last chance at a reform college in the UK. Murphy's character fights for the honour of the college in light of the reform school's impending closure.

Murphy has a few more projects on the cards as he prepares for the Peaky Blinders movie, which is set to begin production later this year for Netflix. He is also signed on for Blood Runs Coal, a motion picture based on Mark A Bradley's book about the murder of union leader Joseph Yablonski, which studio Universal pre-emptively acquired.
