Dave Grohl indulges his love for thrash metal on new Foo Fighters single 'March of the Insane'.
The Foos have shared a mysterious new track titled 'March of the Insane', which sees charismatic frontman Dave Grohl jumps head first into thrash metal.
With visuals of blood soaked tapes, to lyrics that you'd sooner find on a Slayer or Motörhead album, the new track is certainly a departure from the typical Foo Fighters' material.
Released on their official Youtube channel, the new Foos song is attributed to the fictional group Dream Window. The description of the video claims the track is taken from the band's "never released self-titled album."

The veteran rockers have been noted as a key player in Grohl's forthcoming horror comedy movie, Studio 666.
The film sees the Foo Fighters at a studio in Encino, Los Angeles where they put the finishing touches on their tenth studio album, Medicine at Midnight. While creative differences run rife, Grohl becomes possessed by the spirits of Dream Window, jeopardising both the album and the lives of his bandmates.
Along with the Seattle outfit portraying themselves, the film features performances by Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin.
Though 'March of the Insane' is an unlikely track for the Foos, it isn't Grohl's first time experimenting with metal. In 2004, Grohl released the album Probot, a side project featuring metal's heavy hitters including Venom’s Cronos, Soulfly’s Max Cavalera, King Diamond and Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister.
The Foo Fighters are celebrating their 27 years as a band with a 2022 world tour. The trek sees the classic outfit in North and South America, the UK and Europe.
Studio 666 is set to arrive on February 25.
