Husband and wife duo Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas named the films in contention during a live broadcast this afternoon.
After a two-month delay, the nominations for the 2021 Oscars have finally been announced. The COVID-19 pandemic caused the annual ceremony to be pushed back until April 25th.
David Fincher's Mank, Judas and the Black Messiah, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, The Father, Minari, Trial of the Chicago 7 and Sound of Metal are set to battle it out for Best Picture.
Two women were nominated for best director - the first time more than one woman has been shortlisted for that prize in the awards' 93-year history. Chloe Zhao (Nomadland) is a top contender to win after her becoming the first Asian woman to ever win the Golden Globe prize for best director - and Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) is hot on her heels.
Sacha Baron-Cohen, Carey Mulligan, Olivia Colman, Daniel Kaluuya, Vanessa Kirby, Gary Oldman and Riz Ahmed are among the stars nominated for this year's Oscars.
They are joined by the likes of Frances McDormand, Steven Yeun, Lakeith Stanfield, Paul Raci, Andra Day, Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Leslie Odom Jr., and the late Chadwick Boseman in the acting categories.

Mank, the black-and-white drama starring Oldman as Citizen Kane writer Herman Mankiewicz, leads the overall field with 10 nominations.
