Thumper, TPM, Bouts, and more have been added to the lineup for the fifteenth year of the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival, to be held from 16-22 September.
In an already-studded lineup that includes Blindboy Boatclub, Jambinai, and George Lowden, the Clonakilty International Guitar Festival (CIGF) announced new additions today.
Dublin’s noise-pop sextet Thumper, Dundalk’s hip hop brother duo TPM, pop-grunge noise rock Bouts, and balladeers The Mary Wallopers will all be in attendance. Mark McKowski of the songwriting duo The Lost Brothers will be teaming up with Rod Vervest of Western Australia to form McKowski & Vervest. And fellow Aussies, songwriter Melanie Horsnell and contemporary folk duo The Maes have also been added to the festival.
Also joining this year’s line-up is the cinematic screening of Come On Up to the House by Myles O’ Reilly which tells the story of when Footsbarn Theatre Company came to the Dingle Peninsula and staged several nights of shows with live music from Ye Vagabonds, Lisa O’Neill, Cormac Begley, Interference and Glen Hansard. Myles O’Reilly will be holding a workshop on guerilla film making after the screening.
CIGF takes place from 16-22 September and the majority of festival shows will be free with the goal of making live music accessible to all.
