The nominations are out!
The last season of Game of Thrones may have received mixed reviews, but the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) certainly loved it: The HBO series is nominated 32 times at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards, setting a new record for the most nominations in a single season.
The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel comes in second with 19 nominations, while the limited series Chernobyl as well as the sketch show Saturday Night Live received 18 nods. Fosse/Verdon and Barry both scored 17 nominations.
Along with Game of Thrones, seven other shows are nominated for best drama series: Better Call Saul, Bodyguard, Killing Eve, Ozark, Pose, Succession and This Is Us.
Irish actress Fiona Shaw also received two nominations, for her performances in Fleabag and Killing Eve. In the latter, the Cork-born star played the supporting role of Carolyn Martens. The second nod is for her guest appearance as a counsellor in Fleabag.
