The documentary THIS IS SPARKLEHORSE has been released on Prime Video, featuring Irish musician Gemma Hayes, David Lynch, Mercury Rev’s Grasshoper and more.

The feature-film length documentary focuses on the life of Sparklehorse lead singer Mark Linkous, who was also well-known for his collaborations with notable artists such as Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, Daniel Johnston, Radiohead and Black Francis, among others.

Linkous died by suicide in 2010 following a long period of depression.

Today, British filmmakers Alex Crowton and Bobby Dass, heavily assisted by Mark Linkous’ friend and collaborator Angela Faye, pay homage to Linkous with THIS IS SPARKLEHORSE.

The documentary explores various facets of the late musician’s life - featuring interviews with the director David Lynch, Mercury Rev’s Grasshoper, PJ Harvey associate John Parish, Portishead’s Adrian Utley, broadcaster Matthew Wright and Gemma Hayes - all friends of the musician.

Speaking of the release of the film on social media, Gemma Hayes thanked the “amazing work” of the documentary’s crew.
