George Gilbey, known for his appearances on Gogglebox and Celebrity Big Brother, has passed away at the age of 40
The reality star, George Gilbey, reportedly died following a workplace accident, with Essex Police confirming that Gilbey fell from a height and sustained a fatal injury. A spokesperson for the force said: “We received a report of an incident at Campfield Road in Shoebury at around 10 am this morning (27 March), during which a man who was working at height had fallen and sustained an injury.”
Gilbey, a beloved member of the Gogglebox family, joined the show in its second series in 2013 alongside his mother Linda and stepfather Pete McGarry. He later appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, reaching the final.
The incident occurred in Shoeburyness, near Southend-on-Sea, where Gilbey was reportedly working.
Tributes poured in for Gilbey from friends and fellow TV personalities. Former Geordie Shore star Ricci Guarnaccio, who appeared with Gilbey on Celebrity Big Brother, expressed his grief on social media, saying, "Breaks my heart... Always lit up the room, cared for others & the memories we made I’ll cherish forever brother."

His sudden death has left fans and friends shocked and saddened, as they remember him as "one in a million." Gogglebox also paid tribute to Gilbey, acknowledging his eight-series appearance on the show and expressing condolences to his family.
