Kin's highly anticipated second outing will go into production this summer.
Kin, the gripping gangland drama from RTÉ, has officially been renewed for season two.
The critically acclaimed series stars Irish talents Clare Dunne (Herself), Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones) and Ciarán Hinds (Belfast), alongside Charlie Cox (Daredevil). The series follows the lives of the Kinsella clan; a small, tight-knit crime family waging a war against drug king-pin Eamon Cunningham.
Since it first aired, the show has drawn a huge audience, garnering a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
"As the home of quality Irish drama, RTÉ is delighted to deliver another series of Kin to Irish audiences. The first series was enjoyed in huge numbers across RTÉ on both television and RTÉ Player, as well as in North America and Scandinavia," said Dermot Horan, Director of Acquisitions and Co-Productions for RTÉ.
"Series two of Kin adds to our strong slate of Irish drama being delivered to audiences over the coming year."
The dramatics continue into the second season, where the Kinsellas now find themselves as top-dogs in Dublin. However, their success has drawn the eye of an even more powerful enemy — forcing the family to navigate life on top, the consequences of their actions and the bonds of blood.
