Hollywood mourns the 60s legend.
On Friday, Easy Rider star Peter Fonda passed away at age 79. He died from respiratory failure caused by lung cancer.
His family said in a statement: "In one of the saddest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our hearts. While we mourn the loss of this sweet and gracious man, we also wish for all to celebrate his indomitable spirit and love of life. In honour of Peter, please raise a glass to freedom."
In a statement to Variety, Jane Fonda also spoke out about the death of her little brother: "I am very sad. He was my sweet-hearted baby brother. The talker of the family. I have had beautiful alone time with him these last days. He went out laughing."
In the days after Peter Fonda's death, other celebrities took to Social Media to mourn the late Hollywood legend. See the touching posts of Mia Farrow, Nancy Sinatra (his co-star in The Wild Angels), Guillermo del Toro and more below:

Peter Fonda- actor, director, dearest man. Gentle, generous, wise soul. Seek Easy Rider, yes- but also seek The Hired Hand. He helped changed Cinema, but he also lived a life full of love and made this world better. pic.twitter.com/stAbjcm1wd

Peter Fonda was a friend and underrated actor. Bright, funny, warm, Peter was a movie star with a twinkle in his eyes. He was Crazy Larry and Pipeline and I will miss him.

RIP Peter Fonda, counter culture legend, groundbreaking actor and all round real life hero. His sampled voice in Primal Scream’s ‘Loaded’ will echo on forever: “Just what is it that you want you to do...” https://t.co/kVXWn7QQNA
