Taking place from October 25th -31st, the Her International Film Festival is Ireland's only film festival solely dedicated to young female filmmakers.
HER International Film Festival have launched a podcast to showcase women in film.
Started in 2020 by Killarney Young Filmmakers, HER IFF is Ireland’s only film festival for young female filmmakers aged 10-25. It's also an entirely youth-led festival, with all decision-makers aged 24 or below, and will take place in October.
Based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, the aim of the venture is to promote and celebrate young women in the film industry and bring the story of female filmmakers to a bigger screen and audience.
Their new podcast aims to do exactly that, featuring interviews with both established and emerging women in film. Exciting, upcoming guests include inspiring women like Aisha Bolaji and Ashley Chadamoyo Makombe, the co-founders of the GALPAL Collective, and Roseanne Lynch from Darn Skippy Productions. Their next guest will be film educator Phoebe Moore.
Hosted by Molly Cantwell, produced by and theme music composed by Étáin Sweeney and executive produced by Katie Lee Lynch, episodes will be released every fortnight until the Her International Film Festival takes place on October 25th to 31st.
