The track will appear on his forthcoming album, 'Lost Themes III: Alive After Death' - due out February
Renowned horror-genre filmmaker John Carpenter has returned to his roots on his brand new track, 'The Dead Walk'.
Similarly to the soundtracks he composed for his movies Halloween and The Fog, Carpenter lets the keyboard do the heavy work - ushering in disco rhythm and electric guitar with a fuzzy melody.
The track is taken from his upcoming album, Lost Themes III: Alive After Death, due to arrive in February 2021.
The director has teamed up with his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies (son of the Kinks’ Dave Davies), for the music.
Carpenter has followed this familial rhythm with all of his Lost Themes LPs.

“We begin with a theme, a bass line, a pad, something that sounds good and will lead us to the next layer,” John Carpenter said in a statement explaining his working technique.
“We then just keep adding on from there. We understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses, how to communicate without words, and the process is easier now than it was in the beginning. We’ve matured.”
As well as his Lost Themes LPs, Carpenter and his team created the soundtrack for the most recent Halloween reboot.
As well as his new song, Carpenter shared two tracks back in August - 'Skeleton' and 'Unclean Spirit'.
Released via Sacred Bones Records, the singles marked his first non-soundtrack songs since Lost Themes II.
