Currently in the midst of a sold out tour in the United States, Irish star Hozier took time out today to take to the stage of The Ellen Show - one of the country's biggest entertainment chat shows - to perform his latest in a line of hit singles in 'Nina Cried Power'. The Bray native was joined by legendary soul singer Mavis Staples for the performance.

The song is taken from Hozier's recent EP of the same name, which since its released in September has hit #2 on the Irish Airplay Charts, been added to BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 playlists in the UK and the video has been streamed over 2.4 million times. The EP has picked up over 20.3 million streams on Spotify alone.

The singer's star has risen exponentially since his self-titled debut record announced itself to the world in 2014. To date the album has sold well in excess of a million copies worldwide and gone nine times platinum in Ireland, as well as lead track ‘Take Me To Church’ reaching No. 2 in both the US and the UK as a single and stunningly amassing over 200 million views on YouTube. The Nina Cried Power EP marks Hozier's first new music since 2016's 'Better Love', which was recorded for the film The Legend Of Tarzan from the same year.

After the North American leg of the tour concludes, the singer-songwriter will be returning to these shores in December to play five also sold out shows (in The Olympia Theatre in Dublin on December 15th, 16th and 17th, Ulster Hall, Belfast on December 19th and the INEC, Killarney on December 20th) on top of headlining the 2FM Christmas Ball in aid of the ISPCC on December 14th in the 3Arena.
