The popular female rapper will make her acting debut alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s new film High and Low.
American rapper Ice Spice is set to make her big screen debut in Spike Lee’s upcoming English-language remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller High and Low.
After her meteoric rise to stardom with the breakthrough single ‘Munch (Feelin’ U)’ along with subsequent collaborations with A-listers Nicki Minaj, Pink Pantheress and Taylor Swift, Ice Spice has found herself at the helm of the female hip hop movement, nominated in four categories at this year’s Grammy Awards, including best rap song and best new artist. The rapper’s first studio album Y2K is due out later this year.
High and Low will mark Ice Spice’s acting debut, appearing alongside American actor Denzel Washington, known for his starring roles in Malcom X, The Equalizer and American Gangster to name a few. According to Variety, filming for the project has already begun, produced by Apple Original Films and A24.
