Brian Durnin's Spilt Milk will have its Irish premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival on Sunday 23 February.
The film is set to arrive in cinemas later this year. It features an "11 year-old boy" who "dreams of becoming a great detective like his TV hero Kojak," as per the logline.
"He sets up a private investigation with his best friend, but the disappearance of his older brother sets them off down a dark path," the logline continues.
Spilt Milk marks the debuts of director Brian Durnin and writer Cara Loftus. It has garnered four nominations at the 2025 Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Awards: 'Best Film,' 'Best Director,' 'Best Script,' and 'Best Costume Design.'

Cillian Sullivan leads the cast as 11-year-old protagonist Bobby. Naoise Kelly plays his best friend Nell, and Danielle Galligan plays his mother. Other features include Laurence O'Fuarain, Pom Boyd, Lewis Brophy, and Justin Daniels Anene.
Split Milk's first screening in Ireland follows the film's world premiere in 2024 at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (BNFF), Estonia.
The feature has been funded by Fís Eireann/Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, RTÉ, and Screen Scotland.
