Netflix announced the exciting casting news on Twitter yesterday evening.
Emerging Irish actor Calam Lynch has been cast in season two of the massively popular Netflix show Bridgerton, produced by Shonda Rhimes.
You might recognise Lynch from his small role in season two of Derry Girls, which saw him play the role of John Paul O'Reilly in 'The Prom' episode.
The actor also has a number of film credits such as Dunkirk, Black Beauty and Benediction under his belt.
Lynch will play the role of Theo Sharpe in Netflix's most viewed show in its history, created by Chris Van Dusen. Theo is a hardworking printer's assistant - an intellectual who fights for the rights for all.
Charithra Chandran (Alex Rider) has landed the role of Edwina Sharma, who has been taught by her older sister Kate to be the perfect debutante. Kind-natured, young and naive; Edwina also knows what she wants: a true love match.
Shelley Conn (Liar) will play Mary Sharma, an Earl’s daughter whose marriage to a tradesman once embroiled her family in scandal. Lady Mary has now returned to London with her own daughters and is forced to endure the scrutiny of the town yet again.

Rupert Young (Dear Evan Hansen) will play Jack, the newest member of the town with a connection to one of its most notable families.
Fellow Derry Girls actor Nicola Coughlan will reprise her role as Lady Whistledown in the second outing of the Shondaland show, which is returning to production this spring.
Season two will focus on Penelope's brother, Anthony Bridgerton, and his quest to find a wife. Based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling series of novels, Bridgerton is set in the lavish and competitive world of Regency London high society. The powerful title family is comprised of eight close-knit siblings who must navigate the upper ten thousand’s marriage mart in search of romance.
Bridgerton has added four actors to Season 2:
Charithra Chandran will play Edwina Sharma, Kate’s younger sister and Shelley Conn will play Mary Sharma, Kate’s mother.
